Professional lighting in school settings is particularly prominent and represents a substantial market, driven in part by the many festivals and competitions focused on theatre studies held across the education system. <\/p>\n<p>Recently, <strong>LXR Theatre Technology<\/strong>, a specialist in theatre and entertainment solutions, selected <strong>Luci Della Ribalta<\/strong> (LDR) lighting products to equip the auditorium of the <strong>Hong Kong Taoist Association Wun Tsuen School<\/strong>, a junior secondary school.<\/p>\n<p>Among its key facilities is a fully equipped auditorium, designed with a standard 24-channel configuration and a high-performance lighting system tailored to support both educational and stage performance needs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheatre is undoubtedly an important element in Hong Kong\u2019s school system. You\u2019ll find that every primary or secondary school here includes a hall with a proper stage equipped with theatrical lighting, AV, and curtain systems,\u201d explains <strong>Francis Fung<\/strong>, Director of LXR Theatre Technology.<br \/>\n\u201cAlthough there\u2019s no compulsory performing arts subject in the curriculum, students are highly encouraged to take part in stage and artistic activities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For a project of this scale, the equipment needed to be <strong>robust, reliable, and precise<\/strong>\u2014requirements that LDR was able to meet while also offering excellent value, particularly for high-power fixtures and larger quantities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe chose Luci Della Ribalta because it is one of the few companies that still offers a complete range of conventional lamp-based fixtures in addition to their LED product line,\u201d adds Francis.<br \/>\n\u201cThese conventional models deliver excellent performance while allowing us to stay within a budget that would have been hard to meet using only LED counterparts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The lighting setup includes long-throw profiles for front-of-house, Fresnels and short-throw profiles on stage, and 4-cell cyclorama fixtures at the back, resulting in a <strong>versatile and visually impactful system<\/strong>. The final outcome is a dynamic lighting rig that enhances the overall audience experience and supports the visual storytelling of student performances. <\/p>\n<p>LDR products are known for their broad range of wattages and beam angles, as well as their advanced features, such as color mixing, sharp or soft edge focusing, and smooth dimming capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>To meet the diverse stage lighting needs of the venue, the following fixtures were selected:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Tono 8\/22 2kW profile spotlight<\/strong> \u2013 Ideal for long-distance front lighting, offering strong output and excellent beam definition.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nota plus 1.2kW Fresnel spotlight with barndoor<\/strong> \u2013 Chosen for its versatility in creating soft, even washes on stage.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Suono 20\/40 plus 650W Zoom profile spotlight<\/strong> \u2013 Used as a compact short-throw profile with adjustable zoom for flexible applications.<\/li>\n<li><strong>RIMA A500F Pro 4-way cyclight, 500W x 4<\/strong> \u2013 Provides uniform, balanced cyclorama lighting across the back of the stage.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tempo F650 pro 650W Fresnel spotlight with barndoor<\/strong> \u2013 Used for detailed lighting with excellent control over beam edges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been working with our partner LXR in Hong Kong for many years,\u201d comments <strong>Lisa Papi<\/strong> of LDR.<br \/>\n\u201cThis is certainly a significant installation, and judging by the wattages involved, we\u2019re clearly looking at a large-scale stage.
